This qualification is ideal for individuals who have management responsibility but no formal training. The overall objective is for participants to gain the crucial skills and knowledge they need to improve their performance at work. The outcome is confident and effective first line managers. It is delivered through a blend of online and face-to-face classes to provide maximum impact and flexibility.

Participants will explore core topics such as learning how to make decisions that show solution-oriented thinking and developing professional communication skills. Full course content is tailored to the specific needs of the individual and company which may include topics such as: giving presentations, managing risk, leadership styles, performance management, planning change, conflict management, costs & budgets, recruitment, writing for business, customer service standards and organising & delegating.

Participants must have a minimum of an intermediate level of English in order to participate. Executive English Training (EET) will provide placement tests to assess the level of English in advance. English preparation classes are available to bring people up to the required standard. Face-to-face classes during the course will focus on further improving language to develop communication skills within a professional context.

The qualification is awarded by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), based in the UK. This world renowned organisation benchmarks professional standards for the sector, last year registering over 90,000 people worldwide.
